Overview
Any member in good standing (dues paid) may present prints and slides for competition.
A maximum of 4 (four) entries will be allowed per member per month, in any combination of prints, slides, or digital images.
A designated "Special Category" allows a fifth entry.
An image can be entered in competition only once. This includes duplicates shot in camera and exposure brackets of the same image. A different image shot of the same location or subject that is similar (but not identical) may be entered. This image must show substantial change such as a changed camera position, different lens use, or filter effect.
Images created as a result of someone else setting up the lighting, props, etc. (as in a workshop environment) may NOT be submitted.
MCC Member Handbook lists the Competition Categories
The "Decision Tree for Print Images" may be helpful in deciding which category your print fits into.
DIGITAL COMPETITION rules and methods for preparing your digital image see "Preparation for Digital Projection"
We are no longer accepting 35mm slides for competition unless specifically requested as part of a special category.
(We have no such special categories in 2009) |
