Opening Reception: July 20, 2008 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Spring is the perfect time of year to get out and capture nature’s re-birth. Your beautiful images can be displayed in our newest exhibit opportunity: Meeman-Shelby Forest “Focus on Wildlife” Exhibit. This event may turn into an annual event with various themes. This year, we are focusing on images of nature and landscapes from the mid-south region. You may want to create something new or pull from your existing repertoire. The first date to remember is: June 5. We will be collecting images to be juried. The show will hang from July 15 to September 1. Opening reception will be on Sunday July 20, 2008 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. This will include a presentation of animals by the park’s naturalist.

The Phoenix Club is a group of young men dedicated to raising funds for and volunteering time to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis. The organization founded the first Boys Club in Memphis in 1962. The Club holds an annual Holiday Greeting Card campaign. If you are willing to donate artwork for the cards, please contact Joshua Shipley at joshua@i-bankonline.com or at 901-486-4888.

Some of you may wish to participate in this worthwhile project. If your photo/artwork is selected, you will receive 50 of the cards for your own use. The soft deadline for entries is May 15th.
