“It’s All About the Stories we tell with Photographs”
Announcing the Memphis Camera Club Photography Blog
As the Memphis Camera Club continues to grow and expand in 2010, we want to create as many opportunities as possible to display our photography and gain photographic exposure for our members because it really is “all about the photographs”.
In support of this we are pleased to announce the Memphis Camera Club Photography Blog as an additional venue to showcase our work. The blog will be updated periodically with the best work from our members. Film or digital, black & white or color, point & shoot or high end DSLR…these are not important. What is important is quality work…your best efforts.
Show us the world from your perspective…something different…something new…something we haven’t seen before…challenge our thinking…make us smile…make us laugh…make us cry…show us photography we can feel…BUT…please keep in mind that our Club is comprised of members from all age groups, therefore work deemed to be inappropriate for younger viewers will not be shown.
We want to see work from ALL OF YOU…beginners and professionals alike. We need everyone to participate to make the blog a success. So, here’s how it works:
- The blog will be moderated and updated periodically by Blair Ball (with a little help from his friends from time to time).
- Submissions should be sent to Blair at beball7@comcast.net. This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
- Photo files should be sized to 800 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi.
- Send photos anytime, all the time and check the blog periodically. The photo you sent three months ago might be today’s photo.
- The photographer’s name with copyright symbol will appear below each photograph.
- There will be a Comments link below each photograph, so please feel free to share your thoughts about the photos. Feedback on our work helps us all grow and learn.
- There will also be a links section for your personal web sites and blogs. Send a link to your site/blog and it will be posted.
It should be a lot of fun for all of us to check the blog each day to see if our photo appears and see the work of our fellow members. Plus, we all know the power of the internet and the exposure that a venue like this can provide for our work.
Lastly, and this is very important, please send a link to our blog to everyone you know. We want our photography to get exposure because…what good are the photographs, and the stories we tell if no one sees?
That’s about it.
Questions may be referred to Blair Ball at beball7@comcast.net
In 2010…it’s all about the stories you tell with your photographs. We’ll see you on the Blog!
