| The Memphis Camera Club welcomes beginners as well as experienced photographers of all ages. Anyone interested in photography will find a warm welcome here.
MCC exists to educate members and the public in better photography and enjoying its pursuit. Our membership of over one hundred people are mostly hobbyists, but we also claim a growing number of both active and retired professionals.
MCC embraces a broad approach to photographic styles and techniques. Our aim is to stimulate and encourage members of all abilities to fulfill their photographic potential. Whatever your present photography skills are, you will find a place to improve those skills.
If you want to learn more about photography and meet people who share your enthusiasm, you are sure to find things of interest to you. Our meeting schedule is as follows. All meetings start at 7:00 PM in the Longinotti auditorium located at the southwest rear corner of St Francis Hospital. (See drawing at right.)

Although we don't know the actual origins of the club, we do know that it existed in 1938. Hence the motto “in focus for over 60 years”. The reason we know that is through a photograph that was taken of the membership at one of their meetings that year. According to newsletters that were saved and donated to the club we know that the club has met in some varied venues over the years. Churches, The Pink Palace and even members homes. In 1993 we were fortunate to be offered the Longinotti Auditorium at St Francis Hospital for a meeting place. We have met there since. |
